Weather in Hamburg
Many people associate Hamburg with being cold, foggy and windy. This may be true at times but does not reflect reality throughout the year. Based on the fact that it is situated next to the sea, Hamburg has a maritime climate that is mild yet wet. The differences in temperature between summer and winter are not as extreme as they are in other parts of Germany. Winter months in the city have average temperatures of at around freezing point. The average temperature in July has been approximately 17°C in the past years. This does, however, not mean that you won't see any temperatures above 30°C in summer months. During winter there is little if any snow and the rain levels typically reflect northern German averages.
